Alan Bainbridge
Alan is the BBC Workplace Portfolio Director for the ‘Out of London’ Portfolio, which covers almost 300 locations (across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) and works to a budget in excess of £100 million.
Throughout his career, Alan has gained a wealth of experience working on world-class social engineering projects in both the public and private sector (including the NHS, retail and education), ensuring maximum output is underpinned by minimum cost.
While Alan is directly responsible for leading the successful delivery of BBC North at MediaCityUK, Salford, his role is also creating new working environments and new ways of working for the BBC, which will enable creativity, flexibility and functionality as the corporation moves into the future.

Mark Bradshaw
Associate Director, Strategic Property & Workplace Project
Mark Bradshaw manages the Strategic Property & Workplace Projects team in the North of England and the delivers client side consultancy services covering a broad range of related initiatives including Business Transformation, Programme Management, Shared Asset Working, Estate Strategy and New Ways of Working. Recently he has worked on the Total Place Pilot from an asset perspective. Recent projects include Birmingham City Council cross portfolio asset rationalisation project.

Tony Bray
Tony Bray is a Partner of Cushman & Wakefield and leads the regional team based in Manchester. He sits within the National Offices team and has specialised in the office sector for 15 years advising both occupiers & landlords on acquisitions, disposals and development issues. Tony is a Northern committee member of the British Council of offices.

Tony and Elaine will examine the challenges facing occupiers nationally and regionally; what drives location decisions today and is this likely to change as we emerge from recession? How will this impact the type of office product demanded by occupiers? How the economy is impacting sustainability. How cities need to compete to secure new investment, create new jobs and to sustain local economic growth. Given all these issues, how will Manchester be able to provide accommodation to meet future occupier needs?

Chris Farrow
Chris leads the Company’s Executive in the delivery of our £4.3bn regeneration programme over the next ten years. £1bn has been committed since he joined the Company in March 2006. Chris is accountable to the Company’s Board for the performance of the Company and advising the Board on how we can make the biggest difference for the people that live and work in Central Salford. Chris brings over twenty years Senior Management experience in environmental, social and economic development to Central Salford.

David George
Director - Strategic Property & Workplace Projects
David George heads up the Capita Symonds’ Strategic Property & Workplace Projects team providing property and management consultancy services to both corporate occupiers and public sector executives, specialising in the development of long term property strategies and creating innovative workplace solutions. David’s expertise relates to three main areas; Strategic property reviews, workplace design and Inward Investment strategies. Recent projects have included NHS Foundation Trust Estates Strategy, establishing the requirements for the BBC’s relocation to MediaCity .

Gary Gordon
Head of Global Estates, British Council
Garry is responsible for the policy, strategy and delivery of estates, facilities and capital programmes across 110 countries where the Council operates. He joined the Council in Jan 2009.
Key issues that he is working at the moment are transforming the Council’s property portfolio into a more sustainable and productive business driven asset. Reducing cost, improving sustainability, creating flexible working environments and managing unpredictable change are key issues.

Sinead Greenaway
Sinead joined Peel Media from Virgin Media Television, where she had been Operations and IT Director since 2006. Sinead played a pivotal role in the company’s tapeless transformation, a process which has put Virgin at the forefront of end-to-end digital workflow within UK broadcasting.
Having started her career in commercial radio, Sinead previously held senior roles at Emap PLC and ids (the Virgin Media Television, UKTV and online sales business).

Mark Harrison
Mark Harrison began his career as an academic, teaching and lecturing in History at Cambridge University. In 1985 he moved into television becoming a Director and Series Producer in the Network Documentaries department in Bristol and News and Current Affairs in London. In 1993 he left the BBC to work in the independent sector as a freelance Director and Executive Producer - and later as the MD of a small independent production company. He made programmes mostly for Channel 4 and the BBC and won a number of awards for his work.
He returned to the BBC eight years ago, and was made Head of Arts and then Head of Multiplatform Production. During this time he also established an expertise in Production Innovation. He was recently appointed Controller of Production for BBC North.

Julian Lipscombe
Director, Bennetts Associates Architects
Julian joined Bennetts Associates in 1992 and has led a broad range of projects along with growing the practice’s involvement in the public sectors. Recent developments include the groundbreaking transformation of a 1960s building for Hampshire County Council and Mayfield Strategic Regeneration Framework in Manchester.

With Mayfield poised to be the first major Manchester regeneration scheme of the new decade, transforming the 20 acre area around Manchester's Piccadilly Station into a new development to accommodate 5,000 civil service jobs, it will transform one of the few remaining areas of Manchester City Centre that is in significant need of regeneration. It will create a new gateway to the city with a world-class public realm and pioneering sustainable buildings delivering Government carbon reduction commitments and Manchester's action plan to become a leading low carbon city by 2010. Julian will outline the vision.

Pete Mathieson
An Environmental Biologist and former Royal Air Force Officer, Peter carries significant experience of managing complex and operationally challenging FM spaces. Prior to joining Balfour Beatty Workplace in 2010, Peter worked at Carillion and Alfred McAlpines after leaving the RAF in 2003 following 16 years service.
Peter undertook post-graduate FM studies at the College of Estate Management (Reading University) in 2002 and is currently Director for the Balfour Beatty BBC English Regions Contract, which will include responsibility for the BBC Media City Development in Salford.
Peter was born and raised in Lancashire but has lived and worked in many parts of the world including a significant and most enjoyable period in Hong Kong.
Peter currently lives in Cheshire and is enjoys sports, motorcycling and anything outdoors.

Michael Taylor
Michael Taylor is the editor of North West Business Insider and the editorial director of Insider Media, the Manchester-based publishing and events company. He was educated at Lancaster Royal Grammar School, Morecambe College and Manchester University. He has been a business journalist since 1989, having initially worked for the entertainment press in Australia. After a long journey through London working on a variety of magazines covering the TV and film business, in 2000 he moved back to his native North West to take up his position as the editor of Manchester-based business magazine Insider, the winner of the best magazine title at the Northern Business Journalism Awards. The magazine is currently the holder of six regional and national awards for its high quality writing and design, while Michael holds two personally for his investigative journalism and incisive interviews.
As well as receiving awards Michael also hosts business awards and dinners and is a frequent commentator on business issues on radio and television.
Michael is a board director of Insider Media Ltd, the parent company and following the management buyout of the company in May 2005 is a major shareholder.

Adrian Woolard
Adrian is currently Project Lead(R&D North Lab) where he will lead delivery of the project to shape a new kind of world class R&D facility into one half of what BBC R&D will be in the 21st century.
Adrian's recent research has been on areas related to new interfaces such as augmented reality, mobile, pervasive and embedded computing, the growth of participatory media and the potential value of play and application of game design to create new forms of education and entertainment.
