Malcolm Bryant

Malcolm Bryant

Malcolm is a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley and Head of Corporate Services for EMEA and Asia. In this role, Malcolm is responsible for Corporate Real Estate, Property Management, Travel, Multimedia, Sourcing, Corporate Information Management and Security. Prior to starting his current role in December 2005, Malcolm held senior positions within the Global Operations division. He joined Morgan Stanley in 1985.

Malcolm is married with three children and lives in Surrey. His hobbies include playing tennis and writing software for mobile phones.

Jeanie Chuo

Jeanie Chuo

Jeanie is responsible for Workplace Strategies in Deutsche Bank EMEA, and has been with Deutsche Bank since 2006. An architect by profession, Jeanie later acquired her business management qualifications and devoted most of her career in the area of strategic planning for CRE, and using workplace planning as tools to maximise business performance - which has been her core interest in the past eight years. Over the past two years Jeanie played a key role in introducing and developing the concept of flexible working (DB New Workplace) in Deutsche Bank worldwide, and measured savings for management reporting. Today DB has more than 4,500 staff committed to DB New Workplace, with another 2,000 rolling out in the next 2-3 years spreading over the three continents.

Ian Crowe

Ian Crowe

Ian Crowe joined Bank of America in September 2006 as the International Corporate Workplace Executive based in London, England. He has responsibility for transactions, project and construction management; facility management, space planning, demand forecasting and lease administration along with operational budget responsibility for all international sites He leads an in house team of 45 Bank Associates who work alongside 100+co-located Facility Partners. Following the acquisition of Merrill Lynch, this combined international team is responsible for service delivery to all markets outside North America, covering 46 countries across EMEA, Asia Pacific and Latin America.

As a qualified real estate professional with more than 20 years experience he has worked within the public, private and service provider sectors. Prior to joining Bank of America, Ian led corporate real estate teams at Colt Telecommunications and Ford Motor Company.

Karl Chamberlain

Karl Chamberlain

Karl is the UK Head of Projects for Corporate Real Estate & Services (CRES) and has been with Deutsche Bank since October 2006.

Since joining DB Karl has overseen the fit-out of some 250,000 sq/ft of office space, across the bank’s UK campus. Other recent projects include the construction of 2 major trading floors – a project which led to the establishment of a bank wide global design standard; and the oversight of two major new data centres.

A Building Services Engineer by profession, Karl joined DB from a leading UK engineering practice where he was a Senior Engineer responsible for delivery of the engineering aspects of projects ranging from data centres to office fit-out. He was also responsible for the Facilities Management of the firm’s Head Office.

Karl has a keen interest in sustainability and the environment, and in particular how this relates to the built environment and has previously qualified as a Licensed BREEAM assessor.

david dunbar

David Dunbar

David began his career in heavy industry, automating assembly lines and creating test environments, before moving into telecoms and IT where he focussed on networks and switching systems, including the first commercial fibre optic LANs . From there he took responsibility for Contract Managing some of BT’s largest outsource and managed service contracts, within both the public and private sectors, over a six year period.

Following this, he moved into BT Property with responsibility for all of BT’s flexible estate and its home and mobile working programme. As well as managing one of the most successful Flexible Working regimes in Europe, part of the role was the creation of externally facing property-based propositions in support of BT’s core services. This resulted in the creation of BT Workstyle, which evolved a predominantly external focus as it became more successful. BT Workstyle now offers a range of managed services around agile working for mobile & home-enabled workers as well as those operating within the fixed estate. This has now been extended to include a range of new services under the banner of BT Flexible Working Services.

Alongside his practical experience, he has separate degrees in Electronic Engineering and in Psychology along with a Henley MBA. He brings this eclectic approach to Flexible Working where Technology, People and Organisational Processes combine with space to produce agile organisations.

 

Pierre Hall

Pierre Hall

After completing a National Diploma in Computer Studies in 1989, Pierre spent the next 10 years work with various city organisations in operating and designing their mid-range and distributed computing systems. Pierre then joined Computacenter in 1997 from an IBM Business Partner, leading the integration and transformation of large-scale distributed computing infrastructures focused in Retail Banking.

Pierre is currently the Business Line Director for Workplace & Collaboration solutions across Computacenter’s client base. Primary responsibilities include the strategy, sales, marketing, vendor alignment and implementation of Computacenter’s portfolio of workplace based solutions and services. Pierre’s team work with corporate and government clients to provide advice and guidance across the entire lifecycle of end-user infrastructure including the delivery of solutions to source, transform, optimise and manage their workplace technology. Pierre also holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Liverpool and sits on a number of vendor and partner advisory councils.

John Killey

John Killey

John Killey is Managing Director and Head of Citi Realty Services managing Citi’s portfolio of over 11.5 million square feet, in 1221 properties in the 56 countries of Europe, Middle East and Africa. In addition John is the co head of the Citi Realty Services Global Sustainability Group which is managing CRS’s efforts in sustainable real estate management.

John joined Citi in 1995 as Head of Building Operations (Asset Management) for the UK business, moving on to manage the CRS organisation in Europe before taking responsibility for the whole of EMEA in 2006. During his time with Citi he has been involved in a number of high profile projects including the design and construction of Citigroup Centre in London, the Dublin HQ building at North Wall Quay in Dublin, the Riverdale Data Centre in London and most recently on the Platinum award winning Regional data centre in Frankfurt.

John has extensive experience of the Commercial Property and Building Services industries having spent a number of years as a contractor, Independent Consultant and as a client representative for a number of blue chip and Government organisations.

John has an honours degree in mechanical engineering and is a chartered building services engineer.

Jerry Lahane

Jerry Lahane

Jerry is a Board Director with Chapman Bathurst and has been in the industry for 25 years. Having spent the first part of his career in contracting, Jerry moved into consulting, joining RMJM. He has been at Chapman Bathurst 10 years now and is responsible at Board level for technical development of the business. His scope of work today covers the ‘cradle to grave’ services from building master planning, to development, to fit-out, to facilities management and decommissioning buildings. Corporate end user work forms a significant part of Chapman Bathurst's focus and their clients include Henderson Global Investment, Bank of Tokyo (BTMU), MUSI and Northern Trust.

Jerry has a particular interest in research and moving the industry forward. Very often this is just doing simple things well, with some forethought, and other times this means re inventing what we do.

Jula Penfold

Julia Penfold

Julia Penfold is Head of EMEA Corporate Real Estate Strategy for Goldman Sachs based in London.
She joined the firm in 2006, prior to this she worked for Tesco Stores Ltd and held a number of roles including Global Insurance and Claims Director, and Property Director of T&S Stores Ltd following the acquisition by Tesco

William Poole-Wilson

William joined Pringle Brandon in December 2003 and partnership with Jack, Chris and Melvin in March 2008. Since joining Pringle Brandon, William has worked for an international client base designing offices and recently winning two BCO awards. Pringle Brandon’s financial clients include: Barclays, Barcap, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan and Bank of America. William has become involved in changing the world of work through research, collaboration, and practice. He is particularly interested in how new technologies drive new work practices and how smart premises design can support business objectives. He is leading new research in technologies behind environmental design and has designed two carbon neutral projects. William studied at Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London and qualified as an architect in 1998.

Nik Robotham

Nik Robotham

After completing a degree in architecture, Nik chose to specialize in CAD and CAFM technology. Spending 5 years working as a software implementation manager, Nik experienced all FM services, from space management to building maintenance. Nik implemented systems for over 100 clients, as diverse as universities, hospitals, banks and legal institutions. The combination of architecture, technology and client management provided an ideal foundation for Nik to move into Corporate Real Estate at Morgan Stanley. Nik currently leads the EMEA Strategic Planning team, responsible for developing space strategies across a 2.6 million sq ft portfolio. Key projects have included relocating front office groups to a new headquarters in Canary Wharf and introducing flexible working practices within back office groups.

Phlip Ross

Philip Ross

Philip is an author, commentator and consultant specialising in the impact of emerging technology on the world of work and the workplace.

He has worked with organisations such as Ernst & Young, Eversheds, McKinsey & Co, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Royal Bank of Scotland on future workplace concepts based on emerging technologies.

Philip has spoken at conferences around the world including the Wall Street Journal Europe CEO Forum on Converging Technologies and Corenet’s Global Summits in Beijing, Sydney, Orlando and Melbourne.

In 1994 he founded Cordless Group and wrote and published The Cordless Office Report. He has written three books on the future of cities, work and workplace: The Creative Office, The 21st Century Office and Space to Work (all co-authored with Jeremy Myerson) and has contributed to a number of other books including the Corporate Fool and the Responsible Workplace.

Matthew Wailling

Matthew Wailling

Matthew is responsible for technology and workplace visioning, helping clients to understand emerging technologies, their benefits and impact on communications, research and operation.

Matthew helps clients understand ‘the art of the possible’ through technology. With many years experience in workplace collaboration and supporting technologies he is a regular speaker for the British Institute of Facilities Managers and has lectured at the University College London (UCL).

Matthew joined Cordless in 2007 and was invited to the Board in 2009. Prior to this he worked for Steljes Limited, a technology pioneering organisation where he advised commercial organisations on the application of technology to aid collaboration and was the Business Manager for Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.

During his time at Cordless, Matthew has worked to help improve the workplace for clients including NM Rothschild, Nokia, Eversheds and Cancer Research UK. As a regular speaker on emerging technology, Matthew has trained organisations such as the BIFM and the University College London, focussing on the impact of emerging technology on the use of the built environment.

Peter Wong

Peter Wong

Peter has developed and implemented innovative workplace solutions across global organisations from both advisory and occupier perspectives.

He is the Workplace Change Director for Barclays Global Commercial and Retail Banking. Peter focuses on developing, promoting and implementing workplace innovation and new ways of working across the organisation. He is currently evolving Barclays' existing workplace guidelines and rolling-out its alternative work programme across Business Units.

Prior to joining Barclays, Peter was responsible for developing and implementing American Express' Global Workplace Standards, Planning Guidelines and New Ways of Working policy.

Peter's consultancy experience was gained at HOK, where he was a senior member of their Consulting team in London and USA. During his tenure there, Peter worked with clients developing and implementing workplace strategy and policy across the world.

Tim Yendell

Tim Yendell

Tim Yendell is the Global Head of RBS' Intelligent Working programme and has been with RBS since late 2005 when he joined the Group Property function to setup the IW programme. He joined RBS from the Telecom sector having been Head of Capital projects for Energis Communication now subsumed into Cable & Wireless where he was responsible for portfolio consolidation and fit out programmes.

The Intelligent Working programme provides alternative occupation strategies to support RBS group businesses and provide portfolio flexibility and efficiency. Since 2006 it has completed business research on over 30,000 colleagues across the group and helped over 10,000 of them move to alternative accommodation practises where sharing of space is a key feature. The programme is actively engaged with businesses & RBS colleagues and projects in the USA, Asia Pac & India as well as large scale implementations of IW in the UK.

Tim holds a BA Hons degree in Interior Design.
